ST. LOUIS — While out scouting for cleanup locations Tuesday in the St. Louis area, a group of environmental volunteers stumbled upon something much more shocking than litter.
A group of people with Missouri Stream Team, Beyond Housing and citizens from a tiered community discovered an abandoned puppy curled up in a pile of garbage, according to a Facebook post from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Stream Team Coordinator Brian Waldrop adopted the young pup, according to the post.
The dog was scheduled to get his first check-up at the veterinarian's office on Wednesday.
