ST. LOUIS — This year, Ash Wednesday falls on Feb. 14 and marks the beginning of Lent, the time leading up to Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
Some St. Louis area churches are offering drive-thru ash services throughout the day on Wednesday. Clergy members will be on hand to offer a short prayer and ashes at multiple locations in the area.
Here's where you can get your ashes:
Cornerstone United Methodist Church
The O'Fallon, Missouri, church will have a Drive-Thru Ashes & Prayer on Wednesday on its parking lot. It is free and open to the public. Participants do not need to belong to the church to attend.
Clergy will offer prayers and ashes to vehicle occupants and provide a free cross keepsake and air freshener, according to the event page.
The event will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Manchester United Methodist Church
"Ash & Dash" will take place at Manchester United Methodist Church throughout the day.
Clergy will be on hand from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 14380 Manchester Rd. They will offer ashes, a prayer and a free cross keepsake.
The event is open to the public. Participants do not need to belong to the church to attend.

St. Thomas/Holy Spirit Lutheran Church
The church will host its ninth annual "Ashes to Go" in Sunset Hills.
Drivers may remain in their vehicles for a brief prayer and ashes from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the north parking lot of the church at 3980 S. Lindbergh Blvd. in Sunset Hills.

The annual "Ashes-to-Go" will be held at all three St. Louis-area locations for Ash Wednesday.
Clergy members will be available for a short prayer and ashes from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The Episcopal Church of the Holly Communion
The "ashes to go" event will go from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Ash Wednesday at the church, located at 7401 Delmar Blvd. Church services will take place at noon and 7 p.m.
