ST. LOUIS — The Vatican will not reverse the Archdiocese of St. Louis' decision to close St. Barnabas parish and merge it with another as part of the "All Things New" restructuring plan.
Note: The video above is about the appeal from the St. Roch parish.
According to a news release from the archdiocese on Thursday, the Vatican's Dicastery for the Clergy rejected the petition to keep the church open. The decision upholds the archdiocese's plan, which called for the church to be "subsumed by Assumption parish in O'Fallon."
The following parishes still have appeals active with the Vatican:
- Our Lady of Sorrows
- St. Agnes
- St. Bernadette
- St. Lawrence
- St. Paul (Berger)
- St. Matthew
