CLAYTON, Mo. — A new coffee bar is opening in downtown Clayton next month.
HiFi by Upshot Coffee is planned to open Dec. 1 at 8401 Maryland Avenue with a Japanese inspired concept.
In a release, the company said the shop will offer "specialty coffee drinks and a thoughtfully curated breakfast and lunch menu in a distinctive Japanese record bar-inspired space complete with a top-notch hi-fi sound system."
“My vision for Upshot and HiFi is to create unique, memorable, and welcoming spaces for all,” said Eric Peters, partner at Upshot Coffee alongside Conor Vanbuskirk. “We want to offer high-quality products in a high-quality environment. That’s always my goal. But what I think we bring to the St. Louis market is a fresh perspective on what coffee shops can be for a community. A coffee shop doesn’t have to be a co-working space. It can be a fun, energetic networking place to connect, talk, meet people and build community.”
The company said the coffee program at HiFi will feature a variety of thoughtfully sourced and roasted specialty coffees, including Chimera, the house espresso and rotating seasonal single origin espressos, a variety of single origin filter coffee options, and more.
The food menu, developed by Chef Travis Garcia of Coffee Commissary in Los Angeles, will offer breakfast and lunch options including tartines, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and fresh deli sandwiches.
HiFi will add to Upshot Coffee's two other locations in Cottleville and St. Charles.
