ST. LOUIS — Everyone should be able to access a healthy diet of food, according to the St. Louis Area Foodbank's mission statement.
The food bank wants to make the St. Louis region stronger by "nourishing people, empowering communities, and transforming systems." Here's a list of food distribution events planned for the St. Louis Area Foodbank has planned:
Tuesday, Nov. 26
From 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., folks in need of food can head to New Day Church in Desloge, Missouri. There will be a walk-through, shopping-style food distribution program for people with limited access to healthy food and resources. A 28-foot trailer will be set up for people to choose what they need. All people are welcome to participate and receive food while supplies last.
Working with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, Trinity Church Florissant is hosting a 6:30 p.m. drive-thru Food Access and Resource Market. Community members can get a mix of fresh and nonperishable food items— free of charge. Food will be available until supplies are depleted or until 7:30 p.m. Volunteers will place food directly into cars.
"We ask that you have space in your vehicle for the food items and that you do not leave your vehicle during the distribution," the St. Louis Area Foodbank website said. "Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event."
No identification is required.
Wednesday, Nov. 27
Working with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, Chester Area Food Pantry, at 3402 Bodes Lane, will host an 8:30 a.m. drive-thru Food Access and Resource Market. Volunteers will put a mix of fresh and nonperishable food directly into cars. The food distribution will end whenever supplies run out or at 9:30 a.m. Arrive 15 minutes before the event begins and have space in your car for food.
"We do not require any identification or verification of income – anyone is welcome," the website said,

Crosspoint Church of Fieldon, with help from the St. Louis Area Foodbank, is hosting a 10 a.m. drive-thru Food Access and Resource Market. Community members can get a mix of fresh and nonperishable food items— free of charge. Food will be available until supplies are depleted or until 7:30 p.m. Volunteers will place food directly into cars.
