Sugarfire to open in Cape Girardeau

Sugarfire Smoke House will open a restaurant in Cape Girardeau in June.

Co-founder Mike Johnson is opening the location, the barbecue chain's 11th restaurant, with Jim Cook and Matt Martin who are owner-operators of Sugarfire's Valley Park and O'Fallon, Missouri, locations, according to a release.

"We couldn't be more excited to begin our project in Cape,” Martin said in a statement. “It’s such a neat town with so many great people living in it. We believe Sugarfire will be a good fit here and simply cannot wait for opening day to share our culinary barbecue concept with the community of Cape Girardeau."

Sugarfire Cape will seat 100 guests indoors and an additional 40 on the patio. Currently under construction, the new restaurant will be located at 118 Siemers Drive, adjacent to Interstate 55 and William Street. In addition, the restaurant will feature a 360-degree that will allow customers to order beverages and boozy shakes while waiting in line to order their meals.
