DU QUOIN, Ill. – Clear those schedules and mark your calendars for the Du Quoin State Fair from Aug. 22 to Sept. 1.
This year, the fair will feature two great American musicians. The grandstand event will kick off with entertainment featuring Foreigner and Kenny Rogers. Foreigner will perform top hits such as "Juke Box Hero," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," "Hot Blooded" and "Double Vision."
Choir students from the Du Quoin High School will sing backup for Foreigner during their performance of "I Want To Know What Love Is," on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Manager Shannon Woodworth said she hopes the various events offered during the fair will attract families, including children and their parents.
Additionally, on Wednesday, Aug. 27, pro wrestling Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler will be featured in the main attraction against World Championship wrestler Scott Steiner.
"This is a family event where children and their parents can spend time together while enjoying professional wrestling at its best," Woodworth said.
All grandstand shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will cost between $25 and $30.
