ST. LOUIS — Busch Stadium's iconic views, food and aesthetics aren't the only things baseball fans may fall in love with if they attend a game there, according to a new ranking.
A Betway ranking found the home of the Cardinals is also the cheapest MLB stadium in the country for a marriage proposal.
The online sports betting company analyzed the prices of all 30 stadiums in the country. The study measured how much each stadium charged for a scoreboard message and tickets and combined that with the average cost of an overnight stay in nearby hotels.
In total, popping the question at Busch Stadium would reportedly run fans around $298, the ranking said. The Cleavland Guardians' Progressive Field and the Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park followed closely behind at $313 and $317 respectively.
The low prices only got Busch Stadium the top spot of the cheapest stadium list, however. The stadiums ranked as the best stadiums to propose overall were Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park, the Detroit Tigers' Comerica Park and the Cincinnati Reds' Great American Ball Park. Busch Stadium ranked #12 on the overall list.
The Tampa Bay Rays' Tropicana Field was by far the most expensive proposal spot on the list.
"For $760, you arrange to propose to your significant other during a Tampa Bay Rays game where 41,000 people will be watching," the ranking said. "However, there is a sizeable additional $500 cost to have your message projected on the big screen."
The Texas Rangers' Globe Life Field is reportedly the only stadium in the country that doesn't allow fan announcements on the scoreboard.
