ST. LOUIS — There may be some children in the St. Louis area with no toys to open on Christmas morning. However, one local organization is asking for the public's help to allow each child to see a gift under their tree.

The Buchanan Foundation Inc. is committed to helping dozens of families in the St. Louis area. Unfortunately, this year they have come up short.

According to Rosemary Ray, owner of the Buchanan Foundation, the organization partnered with Toys for Tots during the Christmas season.

"We don't have enough toys. We don't even have half of the amount to service the amount of children. I don't want to see any child without."

Ray said Toys for Tots is only able to donate 250 toys, falling short of their goal of 1,200 toys.

"The children will be expecting and I won't be able to deliver," she said. "I have been dealing with Toys for Tots for 25 years and it's always been beautiful. They do a great job getting the community to help but right now I just want to service the community."
