BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Eckert's Farm, located at 951 South Green Mount Road in Belleville, is offering a new line of live Christmas trees for families looking to add a little color to their holiday while supporting a good cause.

For the first time, the family farm is releasing a limited number of pre-cut white pine trees in festive red, snowy white, bold hot pink, vibrant blue and sleek black, according to a news release. These vibrant trees are live, unlike the colorful ones you'd find at a department store, which are often made out of polyvinyl chloride, or PVC.

“We’ve partnered with trusted experts who use non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes to ensure that these trees are not only vibrant, but safe for both people and pets, and we’re excited to introduce them this year,” Eckert’s Farm Manager Tom Dutkanych said in a statement.

The trees are available while supplies last. Each purchase supports charities that provide St. Louis-area families with their own holiday trees and experiences, according to Eckert's.

  • Pink tree sales will support Gateway to Hope, which reduces financial and emotional burdens for breast cancer patients, allowing them to focus on their health, according to its website.
  • White tree sales will support the National Alliance on Mental Health-St. Louis, which aims to improve the lives of children and adults with mental health conditions in the St. Louis region, according to its website.
  • Blue tree sales will support Easterseals Midwest, which helps those with disabilities and their families address life's challenges and achieve personal goals through child development centers, physical rehabilitation, job training and more, according to its website.
  • Red tree sales will support the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation, which is committed to addressing the unmet needs of heart families while transforming the future of pediatric heart care, according to its website.

“After 46 years of providing the community with beautiful, fresh holiday trees, it’s a fun addition that’s also meaningful, brightening the season while bringing awareness to important local causes," Dutkanych said in a statement.
