2024 guide to holiday light displays in the St. Louis area

'Tis the season for holiday lights. Here are some of the dazzling displays happening this year.

ST. LOUIS — Searching for a holiday light display to get you and your friends or family in a festive mood? Look no further! 5 On Your Side has made a whole list of light displays in the St. Louis area you won't want to miss.

Many of the cities that make up the Bi-state have their own light displays for locals and visitors to enjoy. Here are just some of the dazzling displays happening this year:

Brewery Lights at Anheuser-Busch Brewery

  • When: Nov. 22-24 and 29-30; Dec. 1, 5-8, 12-15, 18-23 and 26-30.
  • Where: 1200 Lynch St., St. Louis, MO 63118.
  • A music and light display will extend the length of the brewery with two themed shows centered around two 50-foot trees. This year’s nightly parades will feature the Clydesdales, street performers and live music. A drive-thru option will be available 5-10 p.m. every Monday through Wednesday starting Nov. 26. Citygarden

  • When: Nov. 10 through Feb. 17.
  • Where: Citygarden Sculpture Park, 801 Market St., St. Louis, MO 63101.
  • Take a festival stroll through Citygarden, where trees are filled with lights and ornaments and four sculptures are draped with lights. Spray Plaza has been updated with new LED lights. The 102 fixtures will keep the plaza lively with a nightly interactive light show. Terrace View is also decorated with twinkling lights and stars. The park is always open to the public and free to visit.

Garden Glow

  • When: Nov. 16 through Jan. 4 (closed Nov. 25 and 28 and Dec. 24-25).
  • Where: Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63110.
  • The annual Garden Glow transforms the Missouri Botanical Garden into an enchanted wonderland with more than 2 million lights. The path is approximately 1 mile in length. Click here for tickets.

Holiday Lights at Grant’s Farm

  • Where: Grant’s Farm, 7385 Grant Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.
  • Drive-thru experience (5:30-8 p.m. Dec. 11-12, 17-18): This million-light display features some of your favorite animals, Santa and Mrs. Claus and a 50-foot Christmas tree synchronized with holiday music on your car radio. Purchase tickets here.
  • Walk-thru experience (5-10 p.m. select nights, Nov. 23 through Dec. 30): Ridge the tram to Bauernhof Courtyard and stroll through the light display, visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy festive food and drinks and meet animals at the Tiergarten. Find tickets here. VIP carriage rides and fire pits are also available.
  • Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus (8:30 and 10:30 a.m., select mornings Nov. 29 through Dec. 23): Enjoy a breakfast buffet, including scrambled eggs, French toast, fruit, muffins, tator tots, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage and more, at the historic Carriage House. You’ll also get a complimentary photo with Santa. Find tickets here.

Holiday Night Lights

  • When: The drive-thru is open 5:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 29 through Dec. 30. The walk-thru-only event runs from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 9.
  • Where: Rotary Park, 2577 W. Meyer Road, Wentzville, MO 63385.
  • This 1-mile light display features large, illuminated scenes and tunnels of twinkling lights. On Saturdays, you can also visit Santa inside the Kolb Building. Click here for tickets.

Jingle!

  • When: Nov. 22 through Dec. 31.
  • Where: CarShield Field, 900 TR Hughes Blvd., O’Fallon, MO 63366.
  • Jingle! is a Christmas-themed celebration with more than 4 million lights, a snow tubing hill and three pop-up bars. The event features a walk-through holiday light maze, larger-than-life light sculptures and more. Click here for tickets.

Santa’s Magical Kingdom

  • When: 5:30-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 5:30-10:30 Sundays through Thursdays, Nov. 17 through Dec. 25; 5:30-10 p.m. Dec. 26 through Jan. 5.
  • Where: Santa’s Magical Kingdom, 5300 Fox Creek Road, Pacific, MO 63069.
  • Next to Six Flags, this magical drive-thru display features more than 4 million lights. New this year is Santa’s Atomic Wunderlights, a breathtaking mega-pixel forest of lights erupting in a kaleidoscope of color and animation. Admission is cash-only and paid as you exit the park. You can also book a ride on the Santa Express Train or an old-fashioned holiday wagon.

Way of Lights

  • When: 5-9 p.m. nightly, Nov. 22 through Dec. 31 (closed Nov. 28, Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1).
  • Where: National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 442 S. DeMazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223.
  • Since 1970, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have invited the public to the Way of Lights, a light display focused on the birth of Jesus. The display is free, but donations are accepted to help continue the tradition.

Wild Lights at the Saint Louis Zoo

  • When: 5-8:30 p.m. select nights, Nov. 29 through Dec. 29.
  • Where: Saint Louis Zoo, 1 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110.
  • Visit the zoo after dark and walk through a winter wonderland of light displays and themed areas. Cozy up at the 4D Theater for “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” included with admission. Click here for tickets.

Winter Wonderland

  • When: 5-9 p.m. Nov. 27 through Dec. 30 (closed on Dec. 24).
  • Where: Tilles Park (enter from southbound McKnight Road), 9551 Litzsinger Road, St. Louis, MO 63124.
  • Sponsored by 5 On Your Side, Winter Wonderland has been a St. Louis tradition since 1987. The 75-acre park is decorated with 2 million lights and 100 festive scenes. This year’s event is drive-thru only. To prepay for your ticket, click here.

WonderLight’s Christmas in St. Louis

  • When: 5-10 p.m. nightly, Nov. 15 through Jan. 5.
  • Where: World Wide Technology Raceway, 1905 Collinsville Road, Fairmont City, IL 62201.
  • This drive-thru Christmas light show has over 1 million LED lights synchronized to traditional and newer, rocking Christmas music played on your car’s stereo. You’ll see shooting stars, floating snowflakes, dancing candy canes, giant Christmas trees and tunnels of lights. Purchase your tickets here.
