It was nice to see our familiar
Lunden, 63, announced this morning that she's battling breast cancer and has gone into "warrior mode." She told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts all about it.
And she posted a note on her website.
The details from Joan:
1. "I heard those words every woman fears and never wants to hear: You have breast cancer."
2. "I have covered many stories about breast cancer over the years but I never actually thought this would happen to me."
3. "I have the more aggressive kind…"
4. "I've started chemotherapy and while I don't know how I'll look and feel down the road, I am assuming the best because that is how I live my life."
Lunden's treatment will include a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation.
