ST. LOUIS — One of the security dogs that patrol Busch Stadium for the St. Louis Cardinals is in the running for "America's Favorite Pet."
Tank is an explosives detection canine for the Cardinals and patrols and protects Busch Stadium throughout the season. He is also best buds with Fredbird, the team's mascot!
He was recently nominated for the "America's Favorite Pet" competition. Tank has a chance to be featured on the cover of "Modern Dog" magazine and win $10,000, according to the website.
He is currently ranked No. 1 in voting among 20 other dogs.
Tank got his call to the big leagues in 2017 after working at Auburn University. Tank can be seen around the stadium during games and festivities including Winter Warm Up and when equipment was packed up for spring training, according to his social media.
"Yet, beyond his professional prowess, it's Tank's warm and loyal heart with a touch of chocolate lab charm that truly makes him special—the kind of companion you'd want by your side in both the game and in life," it said on his voting page.
Voting for the top 15 ends at 9 p.m. CT on Feb. 15. You can vote once for free, but additional votes will require a donation to PAWS.org to help sick, injured and orphaned animals, according to the voting page.
