Schnucks recalls ground beef sold at St. Louis store

The grocery chain said the recalled meat products may contain pieces of plastic.

ST. LOUIS — Schnucks issued a recall for ground beef purchased this weekend at a St. Louis store due to possible contamination.

According to a news release from Schnuck Markets, 15 pounds of fresh ground beef sold from 9-10:45 a.m. Sunday at its 7450 Hampton Ave. store is included in the recall. The products, which have a sell-by date of Jan. 22, may contain pieces of plastic.

No other stores were affected by the recall.

Customers who purchased ground beef during the above timeframe should return the meat products to the store for a full refund or exchange, according to the grocery chain. Those with questions can contact the Schnucks Customer Care team at 314-994-4400.

As of Monday morning, there were no reported illnesses or injuries connected to the recall.
