ST. LOUIS — Stifel Financial Corp., the St. Louis-based financial services giant, has hired three senior managers from the California bank that collapsed earlier this month in the second-largest bank failure in United States history.
The former Silicon Valley Bank officials -- Jacob Moseley, Matt Trotter and Ted Wilson -- have joined Stifel (NYSE: SF) as managing directors in its Venture Banking Group. They continue to be based in the San Francisco area.
“Stifel is making a significant investment to service the innovation eco-system, which is companies and venture firms that are the backbone of the U.S. economy’s job growth,” Stifel CEO Ron Kruszewski said in an interview Thursday.
“It’s a great opportunity because when any company has problems – no matter who it is – there are great parts of the business that are around and this is one of them,” Kruszewski added.
