ST. LOUIS — It takes over 900 poll workers to run an election in the City of St. Louis alone.
And because 2024 stands to be a busy election year, local elections officials are looking for more people to help oversee elections.
Tuesday, Jan. 30 is Help America Vote Day, a nationwide effort to get more people engaged in helping run elections. The links below can lead you to more information about whether you qualify.
Right now, election judges and poll workers are needed in St. Charles County, St. Louis and St. Louis County.
These are paid positions.
Poll workers and judges must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- Registered Missouri voter
- Declare a party affiliation (Democrat or Republican)
- Attend a training session prior to Election Day
- Have transportation to the assigned polling place
- Available to work from 5 a.m. to completion of duties on
Election Day - Valid Email Address
Responsibilities include:
- Set-up voting equipment
- Help arrange the Polling Place
- Assist in completing Certification Forms
- Operate voting equipment throughout the day
- Collect the vDrive from the Verity Scan
- Pack up voting equipment
- Assist in packing the cage
- Hang Signs and set up cardboard kiosks
- Check-in voters on Poll Pad
- Perform Solutions Stations functions
- Pack up Poll Pads
