ST. LOUIS — The Mehlville School District is hosting a summer hiring fair to fill open positions ahead of the upcoming school year.
Open interviews will be held on Thursday, June 15, from 9-11 a.m., at Mehlville School District's Central Office, located at 3120 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis.
This event is specifically for bus drivers, second-shift custodians, and part-time school food technicians.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet department directors, learn about job benefits, receive assistance with completing an application and even interview for a job.
Mehlville School District is offering competitive compensation for the 2023-2024 school year, thanks to voter support of Prop E last April.
“Prop E is making our schools stronger by allowing us to invest in all of our employees through competitive compensation,” said Dr. Shannon Pike, executive director of human resources. “These pay increases will help us keep our talented staff and recruit the best and brightest new teachers and support staff.”
Improved compensation for support staff is reflected in the classified salary schedule for the 2023-2024 school year. Those schedules can be viewed on the district website.
Here are some highlights:
- School food technicians start between $15.50 and $18.70 per hour depending on experience.
- Custodians start between $16.25 and $19.45 per hour depending on experience.
- Bus drivers start between $18.55 and $21.75 per hour depending on experience.
- All support staff positions start with an hourly salary of at least $15.
Full-time Mehlville School District employees receive a robust benefit package, including paid time off, health insurance and retirement benefits.
