Career Central: STL launches adult education and literacy program

The program is open to residents of the City of St. Louis and is a partnership between SLATE Missouri Job Center, EDSI and St. Louis Public Schools.

ST. LOUIS — ST. LOUIS- Money from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) will help city residents who dropped out of high school complete their education or get job training.

SLATE Missouri Job Center announces Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program

The Adult Education and Literacy program is open to those ages 17 years or older.

This program will help city residents who dropped out of high school complete their secondary education and other training and credentials to increase opportunities for attaining gainful employment.

It's a partnership of SLATE Missouri job center, EDSI and St. Louis Public Schools.

Case management is an essential part of the program.

You will meet with program staff who will follow your progress and help you complete the program.

Interested individuals must be City of St. Louis residents, income guidelines apply, be the ages 17 years or older, not enrolled in any school, and show proof of being negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brightside St. Louis hiring more staff for a recycling program

Brightside St. Louis, formerly known as Operation Brightside, is looking for someone to lead its education and outreach efforts.

The group recently announced it is seeking a Recycling Program Specialist II to lead City's Recycling Education and Outreach team.

This role will provide residents with tools and information on reducing waste, reusing, and recycling.
