A McAlister's Deli franchisee will open two new restaurants in the St. Louis area this summer.
Southern Rock Restaurants will open in the former Bob Evans restaurant at 8670 Veterans Memorial Parkway in O'Fallon, Missouri, and the former Lone Star Steakhouse at 11969 St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton. Both locations are slated to open in early summer, said David Blackburn, owner and CEO of franchisee Southern Rock Restaurants.
Design Team of Savannah, Tennessee, is overseeing both projects. Blackburn expects both locations to need a "heavy remodel," with the Bridgeton restaurant in the worst shape. It will need a $1 million investment, he said.
Pace Properties represented Southern Rock in its purchase of the roughly 6,000-square-foot Bridgeton property. Wm. Boudoures Co. represented the seller, TMKY/NADG Spirit Lone Star LP. St. Louis County records show it was purchased for $1.2 million and had appraised value of $982,600. Before Southern Rock, it last sold in October 2017 for $1.5 million. Southern Rock is leasing the O'Fallon space, which is owned by O'Fallon SAB LLC, an entity tied to Florida developer Kenneth Goodman.
