Alex Reyes headed to IL after punching wall, breaking finger

Reyes is expected to be out about a month after punching a wall following his last start in Memphis.

Cardinals pitcher Alex Reyes is heading to the IL in the minors after reportedly  breaking the pinky finger on his left hand after punching a wall following his most recent start in Memphis.

Cardinals General Manager Mike Girsch confirmed the news before Sunday's game against the Reds.

Reyes will reportedly head to Jupiter to remain on a throwing program while he recovers from the injury. STL Sports Page's Rob Rains reports Reyes will likely be out of in game action for about a month.
