Fire erupts after tanker truck accident on I-70 in Montgomery County, Mo.

Two people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

MONTGOMERY CO., Mo. — All lanes of Interstate 70 near mile marker 181 were closed for several hours after an accident sparked a fire Wednesday night.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the fire started after an accident occurred between a tanker truck, a U-Haul box truck and an Acura just before 7 p.m.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 were reopened after being closed for several hours.

MSHP said some fuel from the tanker truck leaked into a ditch but was confined to the area of the crash.

Two people were taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
