A committee has selected an advisor team to help the city of St. Louis navigate a potential privatization of St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
The committee, comprised of representatives from the offices of Mayor Lyda Krewson, Comptroller Darlene Green, Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reedand City Counselor Julian Bush, selected Grow Missouri Inc., Moelis & Co. LLC and McKenna & Associates LLC to be the team.
Grow Missouri is a nonprofit funded by billionaire conservative activist and former Mayor Francis Slay supporter Rex Sinquefield, and it helped Slay in launching the privatization initiative. Moelis & Co., is an investment bank based in New York, and McKenna & Associates is an advisory firm based in Arlington, Virginia.
The committee said Moelis would be the lead financial advisor "in seeking and evaluating bids and conducting a rigorous analysis of the financial terms thereof." It said McKenna would identify "the most qualified contractors and subcontractors for the advisory team which are subject to approval of the city," and that Grow Missouri would support and underwrite the evaluation process.
