Many in St. Louis have been following the story of 5 On Your Side anchor Anne Allred, who recently received a life-saving kidney donation from one of her lifelong friends after developing Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome during pregnancy.
Now that she's feeling better and has returned to work, Anne is using her platform to highlight the importance of organ and tissue donation.
Anne will be emceeing the Celebrate Life 5K Run/Walk on July 23 at Forest Park. The 5K brings together the St. Louis transplant community to honor organ and tissue donors, celebrate new life with recipients, support those waiting for others to say 'yes' to donation.
If you registered for the previously-scheduled April event, you do not need to re-register for the rescheduled event. New registration will close at midnight on June 30.
Registration fees are $30 for ages 13 and up until July 23 then $35 on race day. Children ages 3 to 12 are $15 and children 2 and under are free.
Feel free to customize t-shirts, bring posters or decorate wagons.
Pre-race festivities kick off at 8:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 9:30.
