ST. LOUIS — In St. Louis’ Dogtown neighborhood, the music of the season is in the air. This is home to the Hibernian Parade in Dogtown on St. Patrick's Day.
A Dogtown music group known as the St. Louis Irish Pipes and Drums is rehearsing for the big day, Sunday, March 17.
5 On Your Side caught up with the music group playing outside on a recent Tuesday. They practice year-round, regardless of the weather.
“We rehearse every Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., so that's pretty much our day to get out here and really annoy the neighborhood,” said Rev. Kevin Parviz, a drummer. “But the neighborhood kind of likes the sound of pipes in what is a typical a very Irish neighborhood, so it's a good thing.”
The Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. near Tamm and Oakland, and makes its way south to Manchester.
