ST CHARLES, Mo. — The St. Charles County Ambulance District invited community members to show support Saturday for fallen paramedic Michael Clarke as his funeral procession makes its way to the burial site.
Clarke, 27, died while on duty Monday morning after being found unresponsive in one of the station's bedrooms after he didn't report to his ambulance for a call. He had been with the department for two years and was recognized earlier this year for his lifesaving efforts when responding to a call for a cardiac arrest.
A public visitation for Clarke's friends, family, coworkers and loved ones will go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Baue Funeral Home Cave Springs, located at 3950 West Clay St. in St. Charles. A department walk-through will take place at 12:15 p.m., and the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
The procession, which is expected to depart from the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, will take the following route:
- East on West Clay Road to Truman Road/Muegge Road.
- South on Muegge Road to Mexico Road.
- West on Mexico Road to South Church Street.
- North on South Church Street to McMenamy Road.
- East on McMenamy Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
- North on Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Salt River Road.
- West on Salt River Road to Missouri Route 370 eastbound.
- Route 370 eastbound to the Truman Road exit.
- South on Truman Road to West Clay Road.
- West on West Clay Road to Shady Springs Lane.
- North on Shady Springs Lane to Ehlmann Road.
- West on Ehlmann Road to the burial site at Baue Memorial Gardens.
The procession is expected to arrive at Baue Memorial Gardens at 2:45 p.m.
Those who wish to pay respects along the procession route were asked to park at the St. Charles County Ambulance District Headquarters, located at 2000 Salt River Road in St. Peters, or St. Peters City Hall/Cultural Arts Centre, located at 1 St. Peters Centre Blvd.
