WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — A 66-year-old nonprofit designed to inspire students in leadership and service welcomes nominations for high school sophomores to attend the HOBY Missouri Youth Leadership Seminar.
The HOBY Missouri Youth Leadership Seminar will take place in Webster Groves.
The seminar is a part of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership program, known as HOBY, which is recognized as one of the most prominent organizations focused on youth leadership.
The seminar aims to empower students to be catalysts of positive change in their schools and communities.
Since 1958, HOBY has empowered more than 500,000 students.
HOBY was founded by Hugh O’Brian in 1958 as a nonprofit organization with the same mission as today -- to inspire students to learn about leadership, service and innovation.
HOBY celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 1998 by launching a new initiative, Leadership for Service (L4S). L4S challenges all HOBY ambassadors to commit to 100 hours of community service. According to HOBY, since its inception, more than 5,000,000 L4S hours have been donated, resulting in $149,483,504 in economic impact.
Today more than 500,000 HOBY alumni continue the mission.
All high school sophomores are eligible to attend HOBY State Leadership Seminars.
