WASHINGTON CO., Mo. – A live pipe bomb found during an arson investigation in Washington County Monday morning was safely removed by the St. Louis Bomb disposal.
According to the sheriff’s office, an investigator with the Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office located the device as they were investigating an arson near the intersection of Springtown and Vintage Roads. The St. Louis Bomb Disposal Unit moved the device to its facility.
No one was injured.
The area of Springtown Road and Vintage Road was blocked off while the St. Louis Bomb Disposal Unit responded.
Police said no one has been charged for the arson being investigated Monday, but they believe it may be related to other arsons in the area.
