1 dead, 2 wounded in early Sunday morning shooting near City Museum

The shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. near Lucas Avenue and North 15th Street, according to police.

ST. LOUIS — A man was killed and two others wounded in a Downtown St. Louis shooting early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at Lucas Avenue and North 15th Street, near the City Museum and Europe Night Club.

A report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police District said investigators with the police department's Homicide Division were requested to the scene.

Paul Kai Jr., 20, was unconscious and not breathing, police said. Two other victims, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were also found conscious and breathing. They were taken to a local hospital.

Kai was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The 22-year-old victim is in critical unstable condition, according to the SLMPD report. The 23-year-old woman was listed in stable condition. 

Police said there was also a fourth victim, a 20-year-old man, who was not injured.

Police did not share any other information about the investigation.
