1 dead after shooting Monday night in Princeton Heights

The shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. Monday on Bonita Avenue.

ST. LOUIS — One person was killed in a shooting Monday night in St. Louis' Princeton Heights neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at about 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 4900 block of Bonita Avenue.

Police said a man died as a result of the shooting. As of Tuesday morning, they had not yet shared his identity or what led up to the deadly shooting.

The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation, police said.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis has the Neighborhood Healing Network, which serves people who have experienced crime, violence or been the victim of an incident that caused trauma.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
