Man shot, killed in north St. Louis County

VELDA CITY, Mo. — A man is dead after a shooting Friday afternoon in north St. Louis County. 

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers from the Velda City Police Department responded to a shooting shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Glenboro Drive. 

A man was found dead with gunshot wounds in the area of West Florissant Avenue and Gaylord Drive, police said. 

Velda City police requested St. Louis County police to investigate. 

The victim was identified as Jeremiah Latimore, a 22-year-old from Jennings, Missouri.
