ST. LOUIS — A teen was injured in a shooting in north St. Louis Monday afternoon.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded at about 4 p.m. Monday to the report of a shooting in the 5200 block of Robin Avenue, located in the city's Walnut Park East neighborhood. There, they found a boy who had been shot.
Two boys, ages 16 and 13, told police they were walking down Robin Avenue when they heard gunshots coming from an unknown direction. When they began to run, the older boy realized he had been shot in the leg.
EMS transported the 16-year-old to an area hospital for treatment, and the other boy was uninjured, police said.

Cure Violence is an international organization that is present in a handful of St. Louis neighborhoods. Violence interrupters are trained to de-escalate violent situations within their own communities.
