18-year-old charged after fatal shooting in south St. Louis

Michael Henderson, an 18-year-old Lemay man, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

ST. LOUIS — An 18-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder for an August homicide in south St. Louis.

Michael Henderson, an 18-year-old Lemay man, was charged with murder and armed criminal action in connection with the shooting death of 42-year-old Joseph Shaw on Aug. 26.

Police said they responded to a call for a shooting in the 4800 block of Nebraska Avenue at around 2:15 p.m. A man who was injured in the shooting was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. He was identified as Joseph Shaw, a Hazelwood resident, later in the day.

Henderson is being held without bond. According to online court documents, his next court appearance is set for Dec. 12.
