2 juveniles treated at hospital after shooting on Florissant parking lot

The Florissant Police Department said both children suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a single projectile.

FLORISSANT, Mo. — Two children were taken to a hospital for treatment after they were shot during a disturbance on a Florissant parking lot.

According to the Florissant Police Department, officers responded at 4:40 p.m. on the 900 block of Derhake Road. According to a preliminary investigation, several juveniles were involved in a disturbance on the parking lot that ended with two of the children being struck by a single projectile.

One of the children was struck in the abdomen and the other in the leg. The pair were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not release their ages.

Warrants were issued Thursday against a juvenile suspect, police said. He is being held at the St. Louis County Family Court.

No further information was released regarding the incident.
