ST. LOUIS — Two men were charged after an incident left three people hurt on the MetroLink Sunday.
Gary Walker, 46, was charged with one count of each first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Richard Hamilton Jr., 43, was charged with two counts of each first-degree assault and armed criminal action, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
Both were being held without bond.
According to court documents, Walker and Hamilton approached the victims at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 station.
Hamilton stabbed one of the victims in the chest, but was unable to penetrate the skin, the documents said. He then stabbed a second victim multiple times, causing their left lung to collapse.
The 46-year-old then took the second victim's bag which contained a handgun and was found with it when arrested.
Walker approached a third victim and shot them in the leg, court documents said. In an interview with police, he admitted to shooting the victim.
The St. Louis County Police Department said Sunday that all victims are expected to recover.
The incident was captured on surveillance video.
