ST. LOUIS - A young man with a love for producing and directing tv and radio talk shows was shot in the chest last Tuesday.
He was killed in north St. Louis. His father is desperate for answers. No arrests have been made. Darius Hunt, 22, Is described as a caring, loving and respectful young man. His father, Roger Hunt, showed us the awards Hunt won for bible competition and sports.
Hunt was the youngest of three boys and very close to his dad. He worked as a camera man and even shot clips of his father for their Atlanta radio and tv talk show called Straight Talk with Roger Hunt Unscripted. Darius was so good in fact, that his dad let him be the producer and the director of the show. Roger Hunt hugged his son and best friend for the last time last Tuesday.
Hunt says Darius was walking home from the store with an acquaintance around 9 p.m. last Tuesday.
He says that when another man showed up and shot them both.
Police say it happened near the corner of Aldine and Billups. Hunt says police don't believe his son was targeted.
Roger Hunt is teaming up with Better Family Life to hold a vigil for his son. It will take place near Aldine and Billups at 8 p.m. next Thursday.
