250 pound marijuana bust made near Sullivan

Multi County Narcotics and Violent Crime Enforcement Unit found $250,000 worth of marijuana in a secret compartment of a truck during a traffic stop in Franklin County Monday afternoon.

<p>An investigation by the Multi County Narcotics and Violent Crime Enforcement Unit culminated the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of approximately 250 pounds of marijuana with a street value being at $250.000.</p>

Multi County Narcotics and Violent Crime Enforcement Unit found $250,000 worth of marijuana in a secret compartment of a truck during a traffic stop in Franklin County Monday afternoon.

At around 4:30 Monday afternoon, Task Force Detectives stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 44 near Sullivan. During the stop, detectives discovered 250 pounds of marijuana in a secret compartment in the tool box of the truck, a release from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said

An undocumented, 21-year-old man from Mexico and a 42-year-old woman from Moscow Mills, Missouri, were taken into custody. They have not been formally charged, so their names were withheld.
