Police in the Metro East communities of Swansea, Shiloh, O'Fallon and parts of unincorporated St. Clair County are looking for the people responsible for smashing for stealing nearly 40 mailboxes over the last few days.
The crimes all happened during the overnight hours between last Thursday and last Sunday.
Fifteen of the stolen mailboxes were found dumped in a Swansea neighborhood.
