Five suspects are facing in connection with a burglary and shooting at the Collinsville Walmart.
Police say shots were fired outside the Walmart around 12:27 a.m. Monday, striking a vehicle. Nobody was hurt.
Just before the shooting, police say the suspects stole some items from the store and sprayed deodorant in the face of an employee who tried to stop them.
Four adults and a juvenile have been identified as suspects. Eighteen-year-old Tamia L. Hemphill, 19-year-old Itavia D. Wade and 27-year-old Wilneia L. Williams have all been charged with burglary and bond has been set at $200,000. Twenty-year-old Trevon L. Wainwright has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and burglary. His bond has been set at $2 million. Charges are also pending on the juvenile.
Investigators say they have been in contact with the three women facing charges and are attempting to coordinate their surrender. The whereabouts of Wainwright are not known and officers say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
