Shooting inside Dutchtown gas station leaves man dead

The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. at Kaiser's Grand Mart on South Grand Boulevard, police said.

ST. LOUIS — A man was fatally shot Monday afternoon inside a Dutchtown gas station.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called at about 2:50 p.m. Monday to a shooting inside Kaiser's Grand Mart at 5008 South Grand Boulevard. There, they found a 62-year-old man with a bullet-related injury unconscious and barely breathing on the floor of the business.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation, police said.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
