2 men at large in armed Shrewsbury carjacking

Anyone who witnessed the carjacking or captured it on video should contact the Shrewsbury Police Department.

SHREWSBURY, Mo. — Shrewsbury police are searching for two suspects who were involved in an armed carjacking Monday night.

According to the police department, the carjacking happened at about 7:15 p.m. Monday in the area of Weil Avenue and Jacobs Old Coal Road. The victim told police he had just parked at his home and was exiting his vehicle when he was approached by two men. The suspects stole his keys, entered the car and drove off.

The stolen car was found crashed and empty shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in Spanish Lake. The suspects remained at large.

Police described the suspects as:

  • An approximately 20-year-old, 6-foot-tall man wearing a gray/white hoodie and black pants and armed with a black Glock-style handgun.
  • An approximately 20-year-old, 6-foot-tall man with a tattoo on the left side of his neck who was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans and armed with a Glock-style handgun.

Investigation into the carjacking was ongoing as of Tuesday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or captured it on video was asked to contact the Shrewsbury Police Department at 314-647-5656.
