WINCHESTER, Mo. — A jewelry store on Manchester Road was robbed, police said.
The Ballwin Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery in the Winchester Plaza on Saturday around noon.
Witnesses told police that four suspects wearing masks entered Dahab Jewelry, stole property, and left in two cars, according to the original police report.
There were no physical injuries reported. The Ballwin Police Department handles calls in Winchester.
Nearby business owners tell 5 On Your Side it's not the first time a robbery has happened here before. Jim Humphrey, who owns Dimension Computer Store, popped his head out of his neighboring shop right around 12:00 pm after hearing a commotion outside.
"I had heard some yelling," Humphrey said. "Which I didn't really think that much of it because it's a parking lot and there are kids running around."
Employees at the Manchester jewelry store tell us the suspects came in at 11:58 am and were gone less than two minutes later.
Originally police said the suspects left in two getaway cars but the store employees clarified it was a suspected black Mazda leaving the scene.
"It didn't sound like screaming or anything like that but I certainly didn't hear any shots or anything like that," Humphrey said.
Employees at the paint shop next door to Humphrey and Dahab said they heard arguing around the same time, also telling Humphrey that the armed thieves got away with at least $800,000 in stolen property.
Ballwin police have not confirmed how much was taken.
Humphrey shared that five or six years ago he was also a robbery victim in this same plaza.
"They threw a brick through the glass and then they stole two laptops which they knew exactly where they were," Humphrey said. 'The only two brand new laptops that I had. They found the boxes and they took that. That's all they took."
This same jewelry store was robbed two years ago in a 'grab-and-go' robbery.
Humphrey just hopes the four suspects are caught this weekend.
Police saying Saturday's investigation is ongoing.
