JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — A 62-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he turned himself in to police after he allegedly attacked a 40-year-old Imperial man in an apparent road-rage incident.

At about 4:45 p.m. Sept. 28, the two men were driving south on I-55. The Imperial man told police the Arnold man swerved at him near the Butler Hill exit.

The Imperial man got off the interstate at Richardson Road, and the Arnold man followed him. When the two men came to the stop light, the Imperial man thought the Arnold man had hit his car, so he got out to inspect for damage.

The Arnold man also got out of the pickup he was driving. He was holding a hammer and allegedly began striking the Imperial man, the report said.

The Imperial man got away from the Arnold man, drove away and called the police. The Imperial man was then taken to the hospital.
