BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Police are trying to identify a man who robbed a bank Tuesday morning in Belleville.
The robbery happened just after 10 a.m. at the Bank of America at 1911 Carlyle Ave. The Belleville Police Department said the man walked up to the teller with a note demanding money and indicated he was armed.
The man then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and drove west on Carlyle Avenue. His car was described as a black four-door Hyundai sedan with tinted windows and a missing front license plate.
Police said the man was wearing a silver plastic sauna suit, a black hat emblazoned with the word "FROG" and a dark brown face mask.
