BERKELEY, Mo. — The Berkeley Police Department and the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis are investigating after a man was fatally shot Sunday night in north St. Louis County.
According to the Major Case Squad, Berkeley police officers responded to the report of shots fired at about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 6100 block of Jefferson Avenue. There, they found a 45-year-old man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to an area hospital and later died, police said.
As of Monday morning, police had not shared the identity of the shooting victim.
