ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. — The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is searching for a man who was charged in a fatal shooting in Cahokia Heights, Illinois.

St. Clair County prosecutors on Wednesday charged Niko Goree, 21, of Cahokia Heights, with first-degree murder in connection with the Feb. 6 death of 22-year-old Bradford Readus. He was not in custody as of Wednesday evening.

Goree was one of three men police said they were looking for last week in connection with Readus' death. Police did not say whether they were still searching for the other two men or if they were still considered persons of interest.

The Cahokia Heights Police Department was called last Tuesday to a home on Mildred Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Readus shot to death inside the home.

Gore was ordered to be held without bond once in custody.

Police said Goree should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the case or his whereabouts should call Cahokia police at 618-337-9505.
