ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A car was stolen and four others were broken into on the parking lot of an apartment complex in Creve Coeur overnight, the St. Louis County Police Department said.
Officers were called to the complex on Bilston Court at around midnight for a report of a stolen vehicle, Sergeant Tracy Panus said. When officers began investigating, they discovered four other cars had been broken into.
One resident at the complex said he heard broken glass and saw three people breaking into cars. He said some other residents tried to confront the thieves, but they were able to get away.
Officers believe the thieves tried to steal the other cars but were unsuccessful, Panus said.
