ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – A 49-year-old Columbia, Ill. woman faces charges relating to the abuse of her elderly boyfriend, according to St. Clair County Sheriff's office.
St. Clair County State's Attorney Brendan Kelly charged Cynthia Berry with aggravated domestic battery, two counts of aggravated domestic battery over 60 and violation of order of protection.
According to police documents, deputies responded to a call in the 2000 block of Mule Road where they found a 76-year-old man who said he had been beaten by his girlfriend. Deputies also discovered a restraining order against Berry, which indicates prior abuse, according to records.
Berry is in the St. Clair County Jail on $100,000 bond.
