Metro East woman charged with armed criminal action, assault after allegedly striking woman with Stanley cup

Charging documents said the suspect tried to injure a woman by striking her with the "dangerous instrument."

CRESTWOOD, Mo. — Charges were filed last week against a Metro East woman after she allegedly assaulted another woman with a Stanley cup back in March.

According to charging documents, Abigail Finn Stewart of O'Fallon, Illinois, was charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action after allegedly trying to injure another woman by striking her with "a dangerous instrument" -- the stainless-steel tumbler -- on March 12 in Crestwood.

Stewart is scheduled to appear in St. Louis County Court on Nov. 20 for an arraignment.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis has the Neighborhood Healing Network, which serves people who have experienced crime, violence or been the victim of an incident that caused trauma.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
