Brian Clay was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and armed criminal action for his alleged involvement in shooting death and robbery of Loreal Goode in the parking lot of a Family Dollar.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis County police say a 14-year-old girl witnessed her own mother's murder. She tells 5 On Your Side she begged her mother's long-time boyfriend not to shoot her.

32-year-old Loreal Goode's family said she was the kind of woman who was always looking out for others, making sure friends had home cooked meals.

Police said 42-year-old Brian Clay shot her in the head and killed her in a Jennings parking lot during an argument over $36 and a TV Thursday.

Police said her daughter, Noel, was there when it happened.

"I was like, 'Please don't do this. Can you not do this?' And he did it anyway," said Noel holding back tears sitting next to her grandmother at their family home in St. Louis.

"He killed my momma in front of her own child...just threw her out the car and drove off," said Noel echoing the account of the crime from police.

Loreal's mother Joann Goode said the family trusted Clay. And they didn't know their relationship was abusive until a couple of months ago.

Police haven't given specifics but said Clay was picked up in St. Clair County, Illinois Friday and is being held without bond.

"I want him to die in jail," said Noel.
