EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — State and local police are investigating after a deadly shooting Wednesday evening in East St. Louis.
According to a news release from the Illinois State Police, the shooting happened at about 5:55 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of North 75th Street and Eureka Avenue. The release said a man was found shot to death.
St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the shooting victim as 34-year-old Keith Giles.
The release said the East St. Louis Police Department was called after the shooting and later requested help from ISP.
Illinois State Police have not released any other information about what led up to the shooting.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
